Tuolumne County is proud of the area’s diversified economy. The gold rush days left a rich historical legacy in our beautifully forested region. Today Tourism, Healthcare and the related Services sector, has emerged as the area’s number one industries. And yet thousands of people work in retail and wholesale, trade, engineering, manufacturing, construction, other businesses. In addition to the broad base of “high tech” manufacturing companies, the community is recognizing the emergence of new industries such as alternative energy sources and other innovative products.
