Political Action Committee

A Political Action Committee, or a PAC, allows people to collectively participate in the political process. Involvement in the political process can be done through advocacy, political endorsements and lobbying. Each year, hundreds of laws, rules and regulations are adopted by state and local government, which affect the bottom line of businesses in our county. Chamber PAC activities focus on helping to form those that most affect business' competitive edge.

Our mission is to promote and strive for improvement of local, county and state government, encourage individuals to know about their government and how they will be effected and assist individuals in organizing themselves for more effective political action. Our Chamber PAC does not get involved in federal campaigns.

The stakes are too high for the business community to take a passive role in campaigns and elections. Job providers cannot afford to let the labor unions and trial lawyers elect anti-business candidates to office.

Pro-business candidates need an ally to defend themselves against attacks by groups whose policies run counter to a healthy pro-growth economy. Our Chamber PAC is committed to improving government by electing leaders to our state government that understand the need to improve our economy and support the entrepreneurial spirit.

Any individual or business concerned about promoting a positive pro-business economic environment in Tuolumne County and California may contribute to our Chamber PAC. Chamber membership is not a prerequisite for PAC contributions.

Want to participate? Contact the Chamber office or the PAC chair listed above. Contact the Chamber at 222 South Shepherd Street Sonora, CA 95370, 209-532-4212, Fax 209-532-8068 or This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

TUOLUMNE COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
INDEPENDENT POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEE GUIDELINES

The Tuolumne County Chamber of Commerce authorized the establishment of a political action committee (TCCCIPAC).

The purpose of the committee is to help protect, preserve, and further good government and foster a political environment, which will strengthen the private enterprise system.

The committee is a non-profit unincorporated political action committee. It is independent of any political party, candidate, or political organization.

The committee is governed by a set of bylaws and administered by a nine member Board of Trustees made up of Chamber members.

Activities may include, but not limited to, candidate and ballot measure endorsements and contributions, voter registrations, get-out-the-vote drives and other independent expenditures.

The PAC is independent of Chamber finances and is supported by contributions directly to TCCCIPAC from individuals, organizations, businesses, and corporations.

The PAC may not accept contributions of more than $500 per year per contributor.
